Alpha Motors

Your Alpha motorisation should operate problem free for many years. We provide a 10 year warranty on AC mains motors and a 5 year warranty on rechargeable DC motors, although the expected lifespan is much longer. Remote controls will require occasional battery replacement.

Your Alpha motor will not require any ongoing maintenance. Remote control handsets, wall switches and motion sensors all require periodic battery replacements. Sun and wind sensors are solar powered and may need a periodic wipe down with warm soapy water and a soft, lint free cloth.

Every Alpha motor has a built in thermal overload switch. If the motor runs continuously for more than 4 minutes and overheats, it will disable itself for a set period of time. Usually within 20 to 30 minutes the thermal switch will engage and the motor will operate again.

This built in safety feature prevents permanent damage, and the cycle may repeat until the motor fully cools, which can take up to 2 hours.

This varies with how often the remote is operated, but with moderate use a CR2032 battery should last around 24 months.

Charge life depends on blind size, fabric and cycle frequency. For most installs a single charge lasts several months. You can extend run time indefinitely by adding the TYB004-U external USB-C solar panel.

The motor is not visible. It sits inside the top roller tube of your blind or awning, with the charging port discreetly located in the head box or the side channel for battery models.

In many cases yes, depending on the compatibility of the existing tube with the Alpha motor and the ability to adjust for slightly different lengths compared to the existing chain mechanism.
