5-year

Warranty and Maintenance:

Our products all come with a reliable warranty, covering repairs of any defects during the warranty period, subject to the below terms. While the warranty is comprehensive, travel and labour costs may apply.

Warranty Details:

  • Aluminium extrusions and hood boxes: 5 years
  • AC motors – LINX Motors: 10 years
  • DC motors – Linx Motors: 5 years
  • Springs and side splines: 2 years
  • Fabric: 10 years, pro-rata
  • Installation and Workmanship: 3 Years

To maintain warranty coverage, adherence to our maintenance schedule based on your installation environment is required:

  • Minor Environments

These are typically large, detached homes in low-density areas over 10km from the coast or industrial zones. Maintenance is required every six months.

  • Medium Environments

Urban areas with medium to high-density housing within 5km of coastal or industrial regions. Maintenance is required every three months.

  • High Environments

Coastal or high-exposure areas such as hilltops or locations near heavy industry require more frequent maintenance every month, with bi-weekly checks in particularly harsh conditions.

Commercial Installations

All commercial installations fall under High-Risk Environments with limited warranty terms. The risk level can change over time due to environmental developments or structural changes in the area.

Cleaning and Maintenance Guidelines:

Clear and Tinted PVC:

  • 1 Rinse with fresh water using a hose or bucket to remove loose dirt and debris. Avoid using a high-pressure washer.
  • 2 Ensure no debris remains, as this will cause scratching or swirling when wiping down.
  • 3 Wipe down with a clean, damp microfibre cloth to eliminate additional grime.
  • 4 Use the specified PVC cleaner, VuPlex, following the instructions on the packaging.
  • 5 Allow the PVC to dry completely before retracting the awning.

PVC Coated Fabric:

  • 1 Rinse with fresh water to remove surface dirt and debris.
  • 2 Create a cleaning solution with cold to lukewarm water (not exceeding 38°C) and a mild liquid soap.
  • 3 Apply the solution with a soft brush, ensuring it soaks into the fabric.
  • 4 Rinse thoroughly with water and allow the fabric to dry completely before retracting.

Splines:

  • 1 Rinse and clean during the fabric cleaning process using a soft bristle brush to dislodge any dirt from the tracking.
  • 2 Dry thoroughly.
  • 3 Apply silicone spray into the retention groove of the powder-coated aluminium channel.
  • 4 Ensure the internal and external parts are cleaned and lubricated, using only silicone spray to avoid damage and warranty issues.

Motors, Springs, and Locking Mechanisms:

  • 1 Remove any cobwebs and dirt with a soft, dry brush.
  • 2 Clean surface deposits with a damp cloth, using a clean sponge to avoid debris.
  • 3 Ensure these components do not get wet or are exposed to excessive moisture to prevent damage.

Painted and Powder Coated Products:

  • 1 Remove loose deposits with a wet sponge, ensuring it's debris-free.
  • 2 Clean with a soft brush and a mild detergent solution (e.g., pH-neutral liquid hand dishwashing detergent) in warm water.
  • 3 Do not use solvents. Rinse the surfaces well with clean water to eliminate any residue.

Ziptrak® Outdoor Blind Positions and Appearance:

  • Optimal Positioning

Ziptrak® awnings are ideally fully raised or completely lowered for the best visual effect.

  • Intermediate Heights

The blinds can be set at partial heights, such as half or three-quarters lowered, without affecting functionality. However, there are some aesthetic considerations to keep in mind:

  • Fabric Appearance

When not fully extended, the difference in the thickness between the side splines and the fabric may cause the awning to appear baggy or loose, particularly around the top roller.

  • Size Impact

Larger blinds tend to show this baggy appearance more prominently.

  • Settling Time

Leaving the awning in these intermediate positions for extended periods may delay the fabric from smoothing out when eventually fully lowered. Warmer conditions can help speed up this process.

  • Warranty Information

As this characteristic is typical of all Ziptrak® awnings, the appearance of bagginess or looseness in these conditions is not covered under warranty claims.

Exclusions from Warranty Coverage:

  • Damage from storms, high winds, or improper use.
  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Lubrication with anything other than Silicon Spray, e.g. Oil-based lubricants
  • Issues arising from structural shifts in the building.
  • Unauthorised installations, alterations, or repairs.
  • Water damage and other misuse.
  • Installations deemed out of warranty due to non-standard conditions or use.
  • Products not fully paid for as per the original agreement.

Call-out charges will apply for services after the first year, including site visits, service calls, and related travel expenses.
