Mesh or PVC on the estuary
One of our Australind jobs involved replacing clear PVC with mesh on a patio that had become too hot and stuffy with the PVC down, and that trade off comes up a lot here. Mesh blocks glare, most of the wind and rain, and the bugs, while letting air through; PVC gives a completely rain and wind proof surface with an unobstructed view but no airflow. Many estuary homes run PVC on the weather side and mesh on the sun side. We recommend a 95 to 97 per cent Visiontex® or Vistaweave® mesh, the Streamline pelmet with insect control system, and powder coated aluminium hardware in a Colorbond® colour.
