Installed in: Merredin, 6415
This Merredin property has one large patio running around the back of the house, big enough to hold a full entertaining setup and a spa in the one space. It’s the kind of patio that should be the heart of the property, but out here the wind doesn’t take a day off, and a dusty easterly can turn a relaxed evening in the spa or a Sunday barbecue with the family into a battle against the weather instead. Four Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds now wrap the patio’s open sides, and what used to be a fair-weather space is now somewhere the family can actually rely on, whatever the forecast says.
One wide blind covers the main open side of the patio, while the remaining three wrap around the gable-roofed end where the spa sits, following the roofline down to the ground on both angles. All four blinds are made up in a Stone coloured mesh with 95% UV block and powder coated in Harvest, run manually by crank handle through a standard aluminium hood box, simple enough that lowering the blinds before a big blow becomes second nature rather than a chore.

Getting the three blinds around the gable end to sit flush took some extra fabrication, angled L-channel trims were cut to match the roof pitch on both sides, so the blinds follow the slope of the roof down into the corners rather than leaving a gap. It’s the kind of detail that’s invisible once the job’s done, but it’s what turns a patio into a room, an enclosed, weatherproof space the family can use for entertaining, relaxing by the spa, or just sitting out the wind, any night of the week rather than only on the calm ones.

For a large country patio like this, Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds can help:
- Turn a fair-weather patio into a space the family can actually rely on, wind, dust and all
- Keep a spa usable on cold or blustery nights, without the walk out feeling like the coldest part
- Wrap a single large patio on multiple sides, matched in colour and fabric throughout
- Follow a gable roofline with trims angled to match the pitch on both ends
- Run on simple, manual crank operation suited to everyday use
