Certification Window Shading Association of Australia

What is the WSAA?

The Window Shading Association of Australia is the peak industry body for businesses involved in the manufacture, supply, and installation of blinds, awnings, shutters, and external shading systems.

They exist to set standards across the industry, promote best practices, and ensure that members operate in a way that protects consumers.

What This Means for Our Customers

A Commitment to Industry Standards

Being part of the WSAA means we are aligned with recognised Australian standards for window coverings and outdoor shading systems.

This covers everything from product selection through to installation methods, ensuring your blinds or awnings are not just installed, but installed correctly.

Whether you’re considering Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds or a custom solution, correct installation is what determines long-term performance.

Focus on Safety and Compliance

Safety is a major part of the WSAA framework, particularly around areas like:

  • Child safety requirements for cords and operation systems
  • Structural fixing and wind-rated installations
  • Compliance with relevant Australian Standards

For you, this means peace of mind that your installation has been completed with safety front of mind.

Ongoing Training and Industry Knowledge

The shading industry continues to evolve, from new fabrics and materials through to automation.

Through the WSAA, we stay current with developments like motorised outdoor blinds, giving you access to systems that are easier to use and built for modern living.

Accountability Through a Code of Ethics

As part of our membership, we formally agree to operate under the WSAA Code of Ethics.

That includes:

  • Honest and transparent communication
  • Fair and reasonable business practices
  • Delivering work to an appropriate standard
  • Acting in the best interest of the customer

Why This Matters in Perth

Outdoor shading systems in Perth face real conditions – strong sun, coastal exposure, and the Fremantle Doctor.

Not all products or installations are built to handle that.

If you’ve ever wondered how outdoor blinds perform in strong wind, the answer comes down to both the system and how it’s installed.

Being part of the WSAA reinforces our approach:

  • Using systems suited to local conditions
  • Installing with the correct fixings and methods
  • Designing solutions that last

Choosing the Right System for Your Space

Every home is different, which is why we offer a range of solutions.

From fully enclosed outdoor areas using blinds, through to open-air options like folding arm awnings or adjustable pivot arm awnings, the right system depends on how you want to use your space.

For more complex areas, including gaps between structures, options like roof to fence blinds can provide a tailored solution.

What You Can Expect from All About Shade

Our WSAA membership aligns with what we already aim to deliver on every project:

  • Thoughtful system design based on your space
  • Accurate measure and practical recommendations
  • Clean, professional installation
  • Products that perform in real conditions

We also look beyond just the structure. For example, solutions that keep insects out of your outdoor area can make a big difference to how often you actually use the space.

Looking Ahead

Joining the Window Shading Association of Australia is part of a broader focus on continuing to improve how we operate as a business.

It gives us access to better information, clearer standards, and a stronger network within the industry.
