Success | Roof to Fence Blinds Follow a Sloped Roofline Along a Side Patio

This Success side patio runs the full length of the boundary fence, tiled and already set up as an extension of the alfresco with a dining table, chairs and a run of potted plants. The one thing holding it back was the open side: with the patio roof stepping down toward the fence line, the space caught wind and sun straight off the yard next door, on top of sitting in full view of the neighbouring property.

Two Roof to Fence Blinds now run the length of the patio, sized to follow that sloped roofline exactly, a 900mm drop over the first 4.8m and a 1000mm drop over the next 4.5m, so the blinds sit flush under the roof edge the whole way along rather than leaving a gap at one end. Both are made up in Vistaweave® mesh in a Sierra colourway, with a 99% UV block rating, and posts and trims powder coated in Surfmist to match the existing Colorbond fence.

Getting a flush fit here took more than a straight measure. The fence wasn’t quite square, so the second blind had its fabric width trimmed by 50mm to keep both panels tracking evenly along the boundary. Fixing points were mixed too, one post anchored into a steel-framed section (packed out with timber for a solid fix) and the other straight into brick, handled without any compromise to the finished line.

Each blind is crank operated with a swivel gearbox, run manually via a removable crank handle, and finished with three L brackets holding the posts firmly against the fence line.
