Installed in: Rivervale, 6103
This Rivervale patio sits beside the house, looking out over a well-kept garden of shrubs, flowering plants and paved paths. It’s where the outdoor dining setting lives, but with the old blinds past their best, wind and rain made it hard to use once the weather turned. Having worked with All About Shade before, the homeowners came back to have the patio properly closed in.
The old blinds were taken down and replaced with three tinted PVC Ziptrak® Blinds, each around 3m to 3.5m wide. The blinds are fitted to the outside of the posts, with a steel hood box and a new post to support the run, and two fixed panels made up to match. All aluminium components were powder coated in Paperbark to match the existing patio frame.
Tinted PVC is a great choice when the goal is shelter without losing the outlook. It blocks wind and rain completely, while the light tint takes the edge off glare and still lets the garden show through clearly. Because Ziptrak® blinds run in a track on each side, the PVC stays taut and sealed at the edges rather than flapping in the breeze, and the manual spring-assisted operation lets the blinds stop at any height.
The result is a patio that now works in all seasons. It’s a sheltered spot to sit and eat on a wet or windy day, and the blinds roll up to open everything straight back to the garden when the sun is out.
For a patio like this one, tinted PVC Ziptrak® Blinds can help:
- Block wind and rain so the space can be used through winter
- Keep a clear view of the garden with a lightly tinted PVC
- Reduce glare compared with clear PVC
- Seal the edges in a side track for a neat, taut finish
- Stop at any height with simple manual operation
- Replace tired old blinds with a cleaner, more modern look
