Installed in: Landsdale, 6065
The side of this Landsdale home was mostly wasted space. A long, narrow passage and a small paved courtyard ran between the house and the boundary fence, but with nothing overhead they baked in the summer sun and were only ever walked through, never used. The homeowners first looked at shading it a while back, and when they were ready to go ahead, they came straight back to All About Shade.

Three Roof to Fence Blinds now span from the eaves and patio edge across to the Colorbond fence. One shades the courtyard just off the patio, and the others run along the side passage. Each blind is fixed with L brackets on both sides and is crank operated, so it can be adjusted or rolled away easily whenever needed.
The blinds are made up in a 94% UV mesh in Paperbark, a warm sand tone that picks up the colours of the cream fence and the brickwork so the blinds blend right in. The mesh cuts the heat and glare while still letting air move through, which matters in a narrow space where a solid cover would just trap the heat.

What was once a hot, bare walkway is now a shaded, usable part of the home. It’s a cooler path to the back of the block, a better spot for plants and storage, and a little courtyard that’s actually pleasant to sit in.
For a side passage like this one, Roof to Fence Blinds can help:
- Shade narrow spaces between the house and the fence
- Block up to 94% UV and cut the heat of the summer sun
- Keep air moving so tight spaces don’t trap heat
- Reduce leaves, dust and debris blowing through
- Blend in with fabric chosen to suit the fence and home
- Turn an unused walkway into practical outdoor space
