This Jane Brook installation was designed to solve a very specific issue: harsh afternoon sun coming straight through the gap between the roofline and the fence.

The outdoor area itself is a great size and well suited to entertaining, but when the sun pushes through that open section, it can quickly create glare, heat and discomfort across the space. That makes it harder to sit, eat and enjoy the area during the times of day when it should be getting the most use.

By installing Roof to Fence Blinds, the owners now have a practical way to block those harsh rays before they interrupt the space. The blinds help make the outdoor area more comfortable while still keeping the open, relaxed feel of the entertaining area.

For this installation, 2 x Roof to Fence Blinds were selected to cover the exposed gap between the roofline and fence, helping reduce harsh afternoon sun across the outdoor entertaining area.

The setup allows the owners to lower the blinds when the sun is coming through strongly, then raise them again when the extra protection is not needed.

HVG Fabrics supplied Visiontex® Plus Mesh in Goldstone with 94% UV protection. It gives the installation a warm, natural finish while helping reduce UV exposure, glare and heat through the open side of the space.
