The WA market is being flooded with cheap imported plastic/PVC plantation shutters. They might look the part in the glossy brochures but read on and find out why you’re better off with a better option.
If you’re looking at PVC/Plastic Shutters, make sure to ask these questions:
- How long will they last?
- How long will they look good for?
- How long will you guarantee that for?
The plastic shutters we’re seeing pop up in homes across Perth might look good on the installation day, but are they going to stand the test of time?
Although there are a few select reputable suppliers of high-quality PVC Plantation Shutters, we’ve decided to only focus on the supply and install high-quality Aluminium Shutters.
We fit aluminium shutters inside and out. For windows, patios and balconies see our external shutters Perth range, including aluminium shutters and vertical outdoor shutters. For inside the home, our internal aluminium shutters are the ones compared below.
So read on to find out the top 7 reasons why you will love Aluminium Shutters for your home.
1) They won’t sag or crack.
Aluminium is inherently stronger and more durable than timber or PVC, making Aluminium Shutters the ultimate choice for withstanding the wear and tear of everyday living. There’s a reason our Aluminium Shutters come with a 25-year structural warranty. We know they last.
2) You can tell the difference
You can tell at a distance the difference between Aluminium Plantation Shutters and Plastic Shutters.
Aluminium shutters provide a high-quality finish to any interior design. In contrast, PVC shutters will look nice but often fail to achieve a quality finish. The sleek look of aluminium plantation shutters is perfect for contemporary homes while providing superior insulation, security, and noise reduction from the outside world.
They also come in various colours and sizes, so you can find shutters that will perfectly fit your windows and decor. Given that they are inherently more durable, you can be confident using darker colours and even black to create that designer look.
3) The Quality
We love installing products that look great and stand the test of time. In our eyes, Aluminium Shutters are the only option that meets and exceeds these criteria.
Unlike Plastic shutters, which can warp or fade over time due to their lighter weight materials, aluminium shutters offer superior strength and durability that can withstand harsh sun and ultraviolet light.
4) The Environment
Aluminium shutters last longer than Plastic/PVC Shutters and are easily recyclable as a valuable metal. You’ll be thankful in the years to come that you don’t have to dump more Plastic in a landfill with little hope of it ever being recycled.
To top it off, the powder coat finish on our Aluminium Shutters is VOC Free, so your home will be happier and healthier.
By avoiding harsh solvents, our powder coatings release negligible to no VOCs when manufactured and applied.
Forget worrying about Plastics releasing VOCs through your home and breathe easy with a better quality product.
5) They block the light and preserve the view
Each blade is precisely extruded from the Aluminium, giving the shutters a tight louvre closure, minimising light when required. With much closer finishes, you’ll have less light when you want to block it out, and if you want the opposite, Aluminium Shutters have thinner blades which mean more light and more view.
6) You get more shutter and less frame
Our Highprofile Avenir Aluminium Shutters have the largest single panel expanse reaching up to 1100mm wide without compromising any of the structural integrity of the shutter. The average plastic shutter is only designed to cover 400mm to 900mm, a significant drop in width across a standard frame.
7) The Cost
Aluminium Shutters don’t cost much more than PVC shutters. And considering you get a much higher quality product; they are far better value for money. If you average it out over their lifetime, they will likely cost you less than Plastic Shutters.
Lastly, the finish Aluminium Shutters provide will add value to your home for years to come. A quality finish on a home can add tens of thousands to a valuation or the price of your home if you ever choose to sell.
Conclusion
When considering Plantation Shutters for your home, Aluminium shutters beat plastic shutters hands down. From superior strength and aesthetics to their evironmental benefit, choosing aluminium shutters is an easy decision.
