Perth winter can be wet, windy, and the kind of weather that normally keeps everyone off the patio and stuck inside the house. This patio has just had five new blinds fitted, a mix of Roof to Fence Crank & Clip Blinds and Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds, closing in the different openings around the space and finished with a trim to tie the sections together. Instead of packing the patio away for the season, it’s now set up to work as another room of the house, somewhere the family can actually use no matter what the weather’s doing outside.
All five blinds are made up in a dark mesh, with the tracks, head boxes and posts powder coated in white to match the existing patio structure, so the new blinds read as part of the original build rather than an add-on. Two Roof to Fence Crank & Clip blinds, narrower fixed panels, cover part of the run, while three wider Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds handle the rest, each one operated independently so only the side that’s actually needed has to come down.
With the blinds down, the wind and rain stay outside while the mesh still lets light and air through, so the patio doesn’t feel shut in even in the middle of winter. It’s a straightforward way to add a genuinely usable room to the house without a full renovation, ready for entertaining, kids’ play, or just somewhere dry to sit out of the weather. It’s clearly a well-used family space, the yard beyond is set up with a cubby and toys, so having a patio that stays usable regardless of the weather makes a real difference day to day.
